Eduardo Garduño

Mr. Garduño is a Brownsville native and a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. He is an accountant who started his own company, Garduño Tax and Associates, eight years ago. He lives in Brownsville with his wife and two daughters. He has also served on the City of Brownsville Housing Authority Board.

Amanda W. Gonzalez RNC WHNP

Amanda W. Gonzalez is a Nurse Practitioner and currently works at Su Clinica Familiar, which is located in Harlingen, Texas. She has 29 years of experience in the medical field, with specializations in public health for the last 12 years. Amanda works closely with MD Anderson and UTRGV. She is originally from Brownsville and currently resides in the Valley with her husband. Amanda has four grown children who live outside the Valley.

Dr. Brad Warfield

Dr. Brad Warfield is a Lecturer in Philosophy and a Gender and Women’s Studies Program faculty affiliate at UTRGV. He is also a member of the Philosophy as a Way of Life Project at the University of Notre Dame. His research interests lie in 20th-century Continental Philosophy, Normative Ethics, Philosophy of Technology, and Philosophy of the Self. He loves teaching his students on the beautiful Brownsville campus. Originally from Maryland, Dr. Warfield and his wife have lived in the Valley since 2017.

Juliana Diaz ‘11

Juliana Diaz is originally from Brownsville and she graduated from Guadalupe Regional Middle School in 2011. During college at UTRGV, Juliana interned with both Guadalupe Regional Middle School as well as the Brownsville Historic Association. She was a founding member of the GRMS Junior Board of Directors. She has experience working in administrative roles and talent acquisition, and has become an important part of the professional community. Currently, she works as a Program Coordinator at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.

Bertha Lance ‘11

Ms. Lance is originally from Brownsville and is a graduate of Guadalupe Regional Middle School and Saint Joseph Academy. While in college at UTRGV she interned with State Representative Eddie Lucio III. She has extensive experience in developing programs, writing grants, and coordinating projects. She was a founding member of the GRMS Junior Board of Directors.Currently, she works as the Employer Engagement Coordinator with the UTRGV Career Center.
