Is GRMS For You
Guadalupe Regional Middle School accepts applications from students who:
Are entering the sixth grade
Reside in the U.S. and desire a Catholic education
Come from families of low to modest incomes who qualify for federal assistance under the free and reduced lunch guidelines
Are hard working and have been successful in elementary school with average to above average grades
When and how to apply:
Admission to Guadalupe Regional Middle School is for incoming sixth graders only. Applications are available each January and the Entrance Exam is usually administered in March.
In keeping with our model, the maximum number of sixth graders admitted each year is 34 (two classes of 17). If space is still available after the first round of testing, applications will continue to be accepted. Once the maximum number of students is reached, students will be placed on a waiting list.
Application Process
The offer of admission is based upon financial need, a student’s performance on the entrance examination, and an evaluation of a student's total scholastic record. Information provided to the school on the student’s application must be accurate. Falsification of any information provided may be grounds for dismissal of a student. Interviews and home visits are required in determining admission.
Financial Need
As a private Catholic school designed to serve low income families of Brownsville, financial need is the first condition for admission. Families are required to show proof of income. Federal guidelines for free and reduced lunch are used as one criterion for admission.
Entrance Exam
The entrance exam for Guadalupe Regional Middle School consists of the Stanford Diagnostic Tests in Mathematics and Reading.
Scholastic Record
A current report card and teacher recommendation are required as a criterion for admission. Complete student transcripts are required upon acceptance.
