Spirit Awards: Honoring Dr. Virginia Miller
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you as we prepare to celebrate tonight's Diocesan Spirit Awards Dinner in McAllen, Texas. Among the distinguished honorees, Guadalupe Regional Middle School (GRMS) is proud to announce that our very own Dr. Virginia Miller will be receiving the prestigious Spirit Award from GRMS.
Dr. Miller, a devout Catholic, has been an integral part of our school community, embodying the spirit of faith, dedication, and leadership. Her journey is marked by an unwavering commitment to education, a strong connection to her Catholic faith, and a profound impact on the students and staff of Guadalupe Regional Middle School.
Hailing from a family deeply rooted in agriculture, Dr. Miller's connection to the land is as strong as her commitment to Catholic values. As a mother of two grown boys, she understands the importance of instilling faith, values, and a sense of purpose in the younger generation.
Miller graduated with her Bachelors of Science, Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies, and Education Administration Mid-Management from UTRGV (Pan American) and her Doctorate of Education, Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Houston in 2005. She is certified in Biology, English, Physical Education, Special Education, and has a Superintendent's certificate.
She retired from public schools after 32 years of service, which included positions of High School English Teacher, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, Directorships, High School Principal, and concluding as Assistant Superintendent.
Miller was named Principal at Guadalupe Regional Middle School in 2018. This past school year, she served as both Interim President and as the Principal in a time of leadership transition.
Her ability to navigate challenges with grace and resilience truly sets her apart. Dr. Miller's dedication to our school goes beyond administrative roles – she has been a driving force behind the expansion of our faith-formation efforts. Under her guidance, Guadalupe Regional Middle School has seen a renewed commitment to fostering a strong spiritual foundation for our students.
The Spirit Award is a testament to Dr. Virginia Miller's unwavering commitment to the values that define our Catholic identity. It recognizes her outstanding contributions to the spiritual and academic growth of our students and the broader community.
As we come together at the Diocesan Spirit Awards Dinner, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Miller. Let us come together as a community to celebrate and express our gratitude for her tireless efforts in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
